SpiceJet flight suffers bird hit at Thoothukudi

Thoothukudi: A SpiceJet flight from Chennai suffered a bird hit while landing at the Thoothukudi airport on Saturday, damaging the propeller fan on the right wing of the plane. The flight cancelled its return service to Chennai.
The flight landed at the airport around 8.25 am and while rolling towards the terminal building, was hit by a peacock on its right wing. There were 77 passengers on board, including Union shipping minister G.K. Vasan and Thooth­u­ku­di MP S.R. Jeyadurai.
