Chennai: SpiceJet plans to add seven new Boeing aircrafts during the current fiscal, which will help the company to strengthen its international operations. The company, which now caters to nine international destinations, is looking at Thailand, China and Iraq with new additional fleet. Meanwhile, the Airline has said it is not worried about the new competition in the domestic market thanks to its spread.
It may be noted, the Kalanithi Maran owned budget carrier SpiceJet last year added four Boeing aircrafts and eight Bombardier Q400s, taking the total fleet size to 54, of which 15 are Bombardiers and rest are Boeing.
The new aircrafts were part of SpiceJet order in 2010 for 30 Boeing Next-Generation 737-800, which were valued at about $2.3 billion at list prices then.
