Nagpur: The VIP drop and go lane at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur will soon be a thing of the past. By next week, the lane, till now being used by VIPs, will be done away with. The decision was taken during a meeting of the aerodrome committee, held at the airport on Thursday.
The meeting held that the VIP lane will become an emergency lane where even vehicles with beacons will not be allowed. The only vehicles to be allowed in the emergency lane will be ambulances, bomb disposal squad vehicles and fire department vehicles.The meeting is conducted every six months and it mainly deals with security and safety concerns of the airport.
