Air hostess locks up 12-year-old help in flat, flies to Australia

New Delhi: A 12-year-old girl, kept as a domestic help by an Air India air hostess, escaped from an apartment where she had been illegally confined, tortured and harassed by her employer, police said on Tuesday.DCP (South) B S Jaiswal said the air hostess, who is in her 20s, was on a flight to Australia and would be questioned on her return to the country. "We are in touch with airport authorities and she will join investigation as soon as she returns," he said.According to police, the girl, who hails from Senapati district in Manipur, was brought to Delhi two years ago by the sister of the air hostess who promised education and job. But she told police she was confined and tortured in a Netaji Nagar apartment.On Monday afternoon, the girl reportedly used a ladder to reach a vent and escaped to the terrace. She then jumped to the terrace of the neighbour's house and went downstairs. She narrated her ordeal to the neighbours who made her call police.
