Alleged bird hit delays flight by 3 hours

Ahmedabad: Passengers onboard Spicejet flight from Ahmedabad to Hyderabad had a close shave after the flight allegedly suffered a bird hit and had to avert the take-off at Sardar Vallabhbhai International Airport on Tuesday.
According to Spicejet officials, flight SG-917 coming from Muscat, and scheduled to depart at 6.10 am for Hyderabad was still on runway when it got hit by a bird. Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials, however, refuted the claims of bird hit by Spicejet and will be sending a report in this regard to DGCA.
Three hours later all the 70 passengers were flown by another aircraft to Hyderabad at 9.30am.
"Our engineers tried to sort out the technical issue in the aircraft after it got hit by bird but the problem could not be resolved. We arranged another aircraft and sent the passengers," said Preeti Dey, spokesperson of Spicejet.
