Bangalore: DHL Express is preparing a road map to increase the frequency of dedicated freighter service to India.
“Since we are experiencing good growth in volume and business, we are working out a plan to increase our dedicated freight service,” said R.S. Subramanian, Country Manager, DHL Express, India.
“The increased dedicated service is expected to result in improved transit time and shrink delivery timelines. Currently, we are operating dedicated freight service eight times a week to Bangalore and 10 to 11 times a week to Delhi,” he added. The company is also working on network optimisation in the country. This is being done as it sees increased volume and business from 650 towns and cities it operates.
The company recently added another modernised service centre facility at Bangalore. Similarly, the company is planning to open additional centres at Ludhiana (Punjab) and Agra (Uttar Pradesh) as well. Subramanian said, “Currently, DHL Express is present in 650 towns and cities in the country. Through ‘DHL Blue Dart’, we are working out a plan to reach 1,000 towns/cities in the next three years.”
