Field day: Engine off

Mumbai: Automotive and aviation photographer Shraddha Kadakia's job insists she moves in the fast lane, photographing the latest machines to hit the road and skies. She travels half the month freeze framing drivers who perform daredevil stunts, often in cars that cruise over her head. Before a new model hits the market, she gets to feast her eyes on it while carrying out shoots within the confines of automobile plants.
When I'm done dealing with heavy metal and heat, I spend my day off with nature. River rafting is a favourite, and I go often to Kolad where the river Kundalika has rapids in the monsoon. Otherwise, I'm off trekking around Lonavala, Kamshet, Pavana dam or Durshet. If back-to-back schedules aren't likely to offer me enough time to take a longish break, I head to Sanjay Gandhi National park, which isn't all that far away from my Kandivali residence. I'm up at 5.30 am to hit the park, and roam its green expanses right until lunch time.
