First Pune-Bangkok flight takes off

Pune: Mumbai-based Sushila More came all the way to Pune to board the first Pune-Bangkok direct flight that took off on Sunday afternoon. More, who is in the tourism industry, said she wanted to experience how it feels to travel directly from Pune to Bangkok.
SpiceJet's first flight from Pune to Bangkok was inaugurated at a small ceremony held at the Lohegaon airport on Sunday morning. The civil aviation committee chief of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Agriculture and Industries (MCCIA) S K Jain, Air Officer Commanding of 2 Wing AFS Air Commodore Surat Singh and Airports Authority of India (AAI) Pune director Manoj Kumar Gangal inaugurated the flight operation.
More said, "I am going to Bangkok with a friend. I love traveling and I like to experiment with my travel routes, hence I decided to come all the way to Pune and experience this flight." More, who was the first passenger to board the flight, was given a miniature aircraft by SpiceJet. The flight which was earlier scheduled at 1.40 pm was delayed by an hour.
