Foreign cigarettes worth Rs 10 lakh seized from Mangalore airport

Mangalore: Sleuths of the directorate of revenue intelligence (DRI) seized 1,000 cartons of foreign cigarettes worth Rs 10 lakh from eight passengers, who travelled by the Dubai - Mangalore Air India Express flight, at Mangalore International Airport at 9.30am on Saturday.
DRI sleuths found cartons of branded cigarettes — including Davidoff, Dunhill, Rothmans and Gudang Garam concealed in boxes in the luggage of passengers Abdul Rahiman, Abdul Azeez, Abdul Khader, Abdul Gafoor, Mohammed Shafi, Mohammed Kunhi, Abdul Rahman and Habeeb. All accused hail from Kasargod district of Kerala.
