Haj pilgrims made to board flight drenched in rain

Nagpur: Heavy downpour over the last three days has not only caused hardships to common citizens but also drenched Haj pilgrims boarding Air India (AI) flight for Jeddah from Nagpur airport. The inconvenience caused to the pilgrims, most of them senior citizens, could have been avoided had the airline taken care of a technical glitch.
On the intervening night of October 2 and 3, when it was still raining, the airline ferried the passengers up to the aircraft in coaches instead of using aerobridges and also made them board the plane by climbing an uncovered step ladder.
