Jet flight grounded by bird hit

Mumbai: A Jet Airways aircraft was grounded at the Mumbai airport on Friday morning after engineers discovered that a bird had crashed into it.
The plane, with 94 passengers, had already completed its flight from Delhi to Mumbai, and was being prepared for a return journey to the national capital when engineers found the dead bird stuck in one of the engines. The winged creature had frozen because of the chilly temperatures at high altitudes. The pilots, however, didn't realise that there had been an incident because the aircraft, a Boeing 737, didn't experience any problems in mid-air.
Ground technicians alerted Jet Airways, which informed Mumbai airport authorities and the civil aviation regulator, the DGCA.
