Ahmedabad: Customs department on Tuesday arrested a man at Sardar Vallabhbhai international airport for smuggling gold chain and necklaces worth Rs 9 lakh.
Sama Younus was caught with 350 grams of gold when customs checked him on the basis of suspicion. Younus was carrying two gold necklaces and one gold chain in his pockets.
He was held after he landed from Spicejet flight from Dubai at 11.30pm. Younus had gone to Dubai on September 20 and was trying to sneak in gold to sell in the market during the festive season.
