New Delhi: The proposed Tata Sons-Singapore Airlines (SIA) JV full service carrier is preparing to begin operations within six to seven months and also start international flights soon if the rule for Indian airlines to do so is relaxed. The top brass of the JV met aviation authorities on Monday and conveyed the plan to roll out operations soon after getting the required approvals from FIPB — which will consider their proposal on October 18 — and then the aviation ministry.
Tata-SIA JV chairman Prasad Menon, board member and Tatas' chief ethics officer Mukund Govind Rajan and SIA members Tan Kai Ping and Mak Swee Wah met the top brass of the aviation ministry.
