‘Airline let family board flight but left me behind’

Mumbai: A Jet Airways passenger has complained that the airline refused to let him board a flight to Rajkot as even it let the rest of his family - his wife, son and daughter - on the plane.
Arjun Singh Rajput (32) says Jet's thoughtlessness ruined his family's pilgrimage to Dwarka in Gujarat. After landing in Rajkot, they were to take a train to the holy city. But now, Rajput's wife Sopu Kuwar (30), daughter Nazar (10) and son Chandan (8) are in Rajkot with no money, while he remains stranded in Mumbai.
Rajput, 32, who owns a few mobile stores in Malad, says he and his family completed their check-in formalities and reached the boarding gate together to board Jet Konnect flight 9W 7205 yesterday afternoon.
He said, "We were issued boarding passes and joined the queue at boarding gate 3. While my wife and childen were allowed to go through the gate, I was asked to wait for a few minutes before being told that the flight was full." Rajput's boarding pass did not mention a seat number, but bore the letters SBY (meaning standby). Why the airline put him on standby while allotting the rest of his family seats on the flight is unclear.
