Bihar gives wings to Nitish’s Saturday plans

Ranchi: Bihar was the saviour on Saturday when Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren, who was scheduled to go to Latehar district, got stranded at Ranchi airport as there was no chopper.
Jharkhand had to borrow a helicopter from its neighbouring state to take its chief minister to the Sikni colliery in Latehar, which is 150 km from Ranchi.
A similar situation arose on November 15, the state's 14th Foundation Day, when Soren had to go to Khunti, 40km from here, by car when the nine-year-old government chopper did not start.
"Yes, we had to request Bihar government to send a helicopter," said S P Sinha, director (flights operation), department of civil aviation.
