Cidco, villagers to begin joint measurement of land acquisition process starts

Navi Mumbai:  The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) will start joint measurement of land for the airport project after obtaining endorsements from landholders.
The planning and development body will start sending the details of the finalised compensation package to some 5,000 'khatedars' (landholders) through the village sarpanchs. "We will start sending it this week," said a Cidco officials. They added that they will follow a transparent method for initiating joint measurement of the land of those landholders who have endorsed the package.
The move comes in the backdrop of the parallel Sunday meeting in which two separate gatherings of villagers had diametrically opposed views. The meeting, convened by the Antar Rashtriya Vimanthal Prakalpgrast Badhit Samiti led by MLAs Prashant Thakur (Congress) and Vivek Patil (The Peasants and Workers Party), claimed to have most villagers participating.
