Flight movements recorded rise at Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The record growth in passenger movement at the city airport has been the consequence of the increased flight movement this year.
In August, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport recorded a growth of 45.2% in international aircraft movements compared to August last year. Against 416 flights last year, 604 flights transited through the city airport this August.
In the period from April-August 2013, international aircraft movement increased by 46.5% in comparison to the same period last year. Against 2,070 flights in April-August 2012, as many as 3,032 flights either took off or landed at the Ahmedabad airport. The growth at the city airport is third highest behind Mangalore (86.8%) and Port Blair (62.4%) among all international airports.
