Gujarat high court clears runway for microlight aircraft

Ahmedabad:  The Gujarat high court has cleared the way for the defence forces for purchase of 194 microlight aircraft. They will be used by the Air Force, the Indian Navy and the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
The tendering process was stayed till date over a petition filed by city-based Ahmedabad Aviation and Aeronautics Ltd (AAA). The HC has dismissed its petition.
The microlight aircraft that the Defence Procurement Board wanted are imported, and the company had bided to supply them as a dealer. But the company's bid was rejected on the ground that it gave specifications of one model, but offered another.
As per case details, AAA gave a technical offer of P-92 Echo Classic Jabiru against the forces' require.
