Aurangabad: Frequent delay in arrival of Air India's AI-5814 flight carrying Haj pilgrims leave their relatives back home in the region a worried lot.
As many as 3,019 pilgrims from the region had gone for the pilgrimage in 14 flights between September 25 and October 8 this year. Their relatives complained that the frequent rescheduling of flight timings was turning out to be a major cause of concern.
Air India officials, however, cited unavailability of slots at the Madina airport as the factor leading to the frequent changes in arrival timings of the flight.
Of the pilgrims from the region, 222 had boarded an Air India flight on September 26 from the Aurangabad airport and were supposed to return at 6.45 am on October 6. But in the past few days, Air India has twice announced changes in the arrival schedule of the flight.
