Bhubaneswar: Joint secretary (foreigners) of ministry of home affairs V Vumlunmang will be here on Tuesday to take stock of the facilities for overseas passengers at Biju Patnaik airport's international terminal.
"The joint secretary (foreigners) coordinates between the ministry of civil aviation and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) regarding progress of all international terminals. He will see whether the required number of immigration and customs counters have been set up and inspect provisions for safety of overseas passengers," said airport director Sharad Kumar.
Last month, the state government sanctioned 13 posts, including an inspector, seven sub-inspectors, four constables and a driver, for the immigration cells at the terminal. The international terminal will require at least ten immigration counters for both arrival and departure lounges.
