Kolkata: This New Year, enjoy a new experience at Terminal 2. The eight month-old passenger terminal at Kolkata airport is turning a new leaf from January 1, ushering in a passenger-centric approach.
"From January 1, 2014, Airport Authority of India (AAI) will roll out a pilot passenger facilitation system at Kolkata airport. We will engage a facilitation management company to depute 100-120 professionals into various roles across the terminal," Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport director BP Sharma said.
This will come as music to the ears of passengers as they are currently at sea when faced with a problem at Kolkata airport. Though the terminal manager is responsible for the smooth functioning of T2, it is a daunting task to locate him in the huge facility. Moreover, there is no mechanism in place to record passenger complaints and address as well as review them periodically, leading to lack of improvement in sloppy service.
