National Aerolympics begins

Bangalore: The Bangalore branch of the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation are hosting the second Bangalore edition of the National Aerolympics for three days from November 28.
A total of 20 institutions will take part in the event. They were selected based on their 40-page project submitted to AeSI on the topic ‘Aircraft: The Funtastic Machine'.
V?Balakrishnan, executive director of HAL and chairman of AeSI told a press conference on Wednesday that the aim of the event was to create awareness about India’s aviation programme, enable students to collect, collate, sift and arrange information and encourage participants to join the aviation industry as engineers, scientists and designers.
