Rajahmundry: In a bid to acquire the proposed 857 acres land for expansion of Rajahmundry airport to facilitate landing of big aircrafts and night landing facility, the revenue authorities are expediting the process to carry out the survey at Madhurapudi and Burugupudi villages of Korukonda mandal in East Godavari.
The authorities formed 18 teams comprising surveyors and village revenue officers to carry out the survey of the land survey number wise. The entire stretch of the land is divided into several blocks and the officials are entrusted to conduct the survey in their allotted blocks.
Though the exercise to carry out land survey started earlier, the stir for Samaikyandhra which was on for more than two months, cyclonic storm Phailin and the recent incessant rainfall affected its pace.
However, as the employees resumed their work by temporarily suspending the stir for Samaikyandhra, the authorities are speeding up the process to complete the survey initially.
Out of the total proposed stretch of the land, survey was carried out in about 160 acres land so far.
