New Delhi: In a rare incident, the Indian embassy in China has written to the Union health ministry after a passenger from China to India saw an unexpected traveller — a rat — in their flight a few days ago.
Citing that it could have serious health implications, the embassy has asked the health ministry to take up the matter with the others concerned.
Calling it a “serious” issue under the international health regulations, the health ministry has decided to take up the matter with the civil aviation ministry and will soon write to them sharing the recent incident with them. “We are going to write to the civil aviation ministry about the complaint that we got a few days back,” said a senior official.
“The issue is of grave concern as rodents can damage the wiring system of the aircraft. Also, it can have serious health implications as well, its unhygienic”.
