Tatas to fund Jamshedpur facelift

Jamshedpur:  Tata Steel is taking help from international urban planners to draw up a facelift plan for the Steel City.The company has invited suggestions from three urban planning consultants from Singapore, Hong Kong and the US.
Meanwhile, Narendran said the upcoming Rs 400 Tata Steel International Airport at Gamharia, about 15km from Jamshedpur, is an important step towards connecting the town with other important points in the country.
"I agree there are some issues at the ground level regarding land acquisition for the airport. But things are moving ahead in a steady pace," said the newly appointed MD of Tata Steel T V Narendran said on Friday.
