Kochi: One kg of smuggled gold was seized at the Kochi airport early this morning by the Customs authorities from a passenger arriving from Dubai.
The gold, valued at Rs 30 lakh, was found concealed in cavities inside the passenger’s footwear. The passenger had, on his first visit abroad, gone to Dubai only nine days before indicating that he could be a carrier for smugglers.
