Airhostess, aide get bail in gold smuggling case

Kochi:  The two women, who were detained for smuggling nearly 6 kg of gold through Kozhikode airport on November 8, were granted conditional bail on Saturday.
Officials of the directorate of revenue intelligence (DRI) had detained the women - V S Hiromasa, flight attendant with Air India Express, and Rahila Cheerayi, software consultant from Thalassery - while they were trying to smuggle in gold. They had strapped three gold bars each wrapped in a cloth around their waist and wore jeans over it.
Granting bail to the two, principal sessions court judge P Ubaid said they should not enter the international airports in the country or leave Kerala without the permission of the DRI authorities or the magistrate.
