Bhubaneswar: Live bullets which were carried by American engineer William Michael Hurtubise were procured from USA. This was revealed after the ballistic report which was submitted by the State Forensic Science laboratory to Airfield police station here on Sunday. Commissionerate police arrested Hurtubise, a Texas based engineer form Biju Pattnaik Airport with 8 numbers of 22 mm live cartridges on September 18. He was released on conditional bail a month after his arrest by depositing a surety of Rs 50,000, passport and two bailers. Currently he is staying at Paradip, as the court restricted his departure from India for the on going trial. “Earlier we were suspecting that the bullets seized from the American engineer might be made in India. But the ballistic report clearly mentioned that the bullets were manufactured by a USA based company,” the officer added.
