CM misleading people on Dabolim airport's capacity: GFDO

Panaji:  Accusing chief minister Manohar Parrikar and civil aviation secretary of "misleading" people on the actual capacity of the new Dabolim terminal, 'Goans for Dabolim only' (GFDO) on Saturday demanded that "all ongoing acquisitions for Mopa airport be dropped without any further delays".
Briefing mediapersons, Fr Eremito Rebelo said, "We will not sit quiet till the poor people get their land back. Those who are pushing for the Mopa airport, are the people who have bought land there. They are not doing it for the love of Goa."
In a press release, GFDO claimed that the 'design capacity of the Dabolim airport has now increased from 700 passengers per hour to 2,750 passengers per hour, almost four times increase'. GFDP also pointed out that 'the present terminal can handle Goa's needs for at least another 25 years, even assuming high growth rates of tourists and other passengers'.
