Copter pilots to be spared for landing due to bad weather

The aviation regulator has come out with a circular, stating that a helicopter pilot will not be punished if s/he makes a precautionary landing due to bad weather. The rider is that the pilot must inform the air safety unit at the earliest.
This circular comes in the wake of several cases of helicopters crashes due to inclement weather. Often, pilots are under pressure to complete a flight if the passenger being ferried is an influential person (like a politician or industrialist) or if the copter firm insists on completion of the trip, the weather notwithstanding.
