Nagpur: The directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) has begun investigation into the crash of an Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy (IGRUA) training aircraft in Chhindwara.
Nineteen-year-old trainee pilot Sohail Ansari lost his life when his Diamond 40 aircraft crashed in the Thakkurdev hills near Pachmarhi on Tuesday. Ansari had set out for a cross country solo sortie to Pachmarhi from Gondia, where IGRUA conducts some of its training during winters. Ansari's aircraft went missing at about 1:27pm when it was reportedly last spotted by Nagpur air traffic control ( ATC).
