Emergency operation drill at Ahmedabad airport

Ahmedabad: To check the preparedness of all the departments of the airport, an emergency operations drill was carried out at the airport on Tuesday. The two-hour operation began at 3.30pm. After a 30 minute emergency drill, an hour-long debriefing was held with all officials.
Staff from the CISF and the airport fire brigade along with the medical staff from the Civil Hospital, Apollo Hospital, Chandramani Hospital, and Rajasthan Hospital participated in the drill. "According to the mandatory requirements, all airports must conduct an emergency operation drill every two years," said R K Singh, the airport director.
A mock-up bus was used as an aircraft that was supposed to have crash-landed on Runway 23. On receiving the "crash" message, the Airport Fire Station began the rescue operation.
