Lohegaon airport runway closure from January 15

Pune: The much-discussed modernization of air field infrastructure (MAFI) works at the Indian Air Force's Lohegaon air field, which also operates civilian flights, will finally commence from January 15.
The airport runway will remain closed between 10pm and 8am daily for three months to facilitate the laying of new embedded lights along the centre line of the 8,300 feet runway.
"The IAF authorities have conveyed the runway closure timings to all those concerned with the air field and airport operations including the airlines and the Airports Authority of India (AAI)," Pune airport director Manoj Kumar Gangal told TOI on Saturday. "A notice to airmen (NOTAM) regarding the runway closure has also been issued by the air force authorities," he said.
