Air India Express set to reinstate two Salalah-Kerala flights

Muscat: The Indian expatriates from Kerala residing in Oman can heave a sigh of relief as Air India Express, the budget airline of Air India, is going to reinstate the two flights from Salalah to Kerala that were suspended, and will also add two more flights from Muscat to Thiruvananthapuram from March, a senior official from the airline's office in Muscat said.
"The airline had cancelled its two services, Salalah-Thiruvananthapuram (IX541) and Salalah-Cochin-Thiruvananthapuram (IX544), in January this year. Now, we are going to reinstate them from March-end as part of the summer schedule. It will ease the woes of those travelling to south Indian destinations," Amresh Choudhary, Air India's Oman country manager, told Times of Oman.
"The two main reasons behind the cancellation were that there was not much load from Salalah at that time and there was also unavailability of aircraft," airline's country manager said.
Keralites in Oman were up in arms after the airline suspended two flights from Salalah to Kerala.
