Nagpur: Three Kolkata-bound flights were diverted to Nagpur on the intervening night of January 21 and 22 following unfavourable weather conditions for landing at Kolkata airport. Out of the three, two were Air India (AI) flights while the other one was Jet Airways flight.
AI 776 Mumbai - Kolkata flight landed at Nagpur at 12.10am while AI 229 Dhaka - Kolkata flight landed at 12.40am. The Jet flight 2844 Chennai - Kolkata flight landed at Nagpur airport at 12.25am. All the flights left Nagpur on Wednesday morning.
However, some passengers of the AI Dhaka - Kolkata flight complained that the airline did not take care of them properly and they were not served food or water for hours after they landed at Nagpur. "As it was a half an hour international flight most passengers didn't have anything to eat with them and with all the formalities, it meant that they had probably not eaten for a long. To top it all, we weren't served any food for hours after we landed in Nagpur," complained a passenger requesting anonymity.
