CISF holds training to familiarise its staff with T2 layout ahead of opening

Mumbai: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel in Mumbai have learnt from their Delhi counterparts’ experience, when the latter had lost their way in the vast and unfamiliar Terminal 3 (T3) after it was opened.
The CISF at Mumbai airport is taking steps to familiarise its entire staff of 4,200 with every point of the over five-km-long Terminal 2 (T2) before its expected opening later this month.
The CISF is mandated to provide security to most of the airports in the country, including Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Limited (CSIA). Security agencies believe any goof-up in its service could turn fatal as the city airport remains under the constant radar of terrorists.
“We don’t want to take any chances with the security of the airport from the first day itself, hence this exercise,” said a senior CISF official.
