New Delhi: Domestic airlines flew 55.86 lakh passengers in December 2013 registering a growth of 3.36 per cent over the 54.04 lakh passengers carried by them in December 2012.
The latest data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation show that during December 2013, JetLite reported the highest passenger load factor of 78.5 per cent, followed by GoAir (77.4 per cent), Air India (77.3 per cent), IndiGo (77.1 per cent), SpiceJet (75.3 per cent), Jet Airways (74.8 per cent) and Air Costa (72.6 per cent).
The passenger load factor shows the number of seats occupied on each flight.
Meanwhile, in a departure from the past the latest data released by the DGCA did not give a breakdown of the number of passengers carried by each airline during December.
