Foreign currencies seized at Trichy airport

Trichy: The customs air intelligence unit at the Tiruchy international airport has seized foreign currencies amounting to Rs 28 lakh from three passengers who came to board the Air India Express flight bound for Dubai late on Wednesday night.
According to the officials, the passengers were caught with Indian rupees, US and Singapore dollars and Malaysian ringgits. The officials discovered that three of them had kept the dollars in their hand bags and they were recovered them.
The currency carriers were identified as Serduszkhan (31) and Banasur (32) of Athirampattinam in Thanjavur district and Sirajuddin (33) of Jailani Street in Tuticorin district.
