Immigration bureau's claim opposed in Kerala high court

Kochi:  The Kerala manpower exporters association has opposed Bureau of Immigration's (BoI) claim at the Kerala high court that human trafficking through the Nedumbassery airport is continuing, with rackets now operating with commercial visit visas.
BoI had told the court earlier that a large number of passengers had been found travelling on commercial visit visas for short-term employment.
BoI was responding to a petition filed by four persons from Pathanamthitta alleging that BoI is not permitting them to attend job interviews abroad for working as carpenters in a Kuwait defence-related project.
Opposing BoI's claim, the association has now filed a counter affidavit. The affidavit stated, "The wild allegation that travel agents are circumventing the existing rules for illegal migration and human trafficking are without any basis and most unfortunate."
