Movie on India air crash to be shot in Dubai

Dubai:  The horrific air tragedy at India’s Mangalore International Airport in 2010, which killed 158 passengers and crew, is the backdrop of an upcoming Malayalam feature film to be partially shot in Dubai.
Since the tragedy involved passengers from Dubai to Mangalore, part of the film’s story will be based in Dubai and other parts of the UAE, said director Shaheer Ummer, who was an expatriate Keralite in the UAE for several years.
The film titled Eni Mazhayulola Nattilekku (Now, Towards a Rainy Abode), has several Dubai-based talents working behind, including cinematographer Anil Vadakkekkara.
“The film is an attempt to reveal what really happened to the victims and their families, who are still waiting for compensation according to international regulations even after four years. I have personally visited the families of several victims who are still living under extreme pressure from several corners. Some of them received part payment and some others very little,” Ummer, the general secretary of Human Rights Youth in Kerala, said.
