Narcotics, gold seized at Mumbai international airport

Mumbai: In two separate cases, a Zambian national and an Indian were arrested today from Mumbai International Airport for alleged smuggling of narcotics and gold collectively valued at Rs 7.74 crore, a senior Customs official said.
In the first case, a Zambian national named Ngona Joyce, who was scheduled to take a South African Airways to Johannesburg at about 2 AM today, was intercepted for suspicious movement at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Additional Commissioner (Air Intelligence Unit, Customs) Milind Lanjewar told PTI.
In the second case, Indian passenger M K Sathar, who arrived here on a flight from Dubai, was intercepted in the wee hours today and one kg of gold, valued around Rs 26.45 lakh, was found cleverly concealed in boxes of talcum powder in the form of metallic sheets, the officer said.
