Navi Mumbai airport RFQ to be issued on February 5

Mumbai: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has set the ball rolling for the development of much delayed Navi Mumbai international airport.
CIDCO, which is the nodal agency for the project, will issue request for qualification (RFQ) on February 5. The issue of RFQ was deferred for over one and half years in view of lack of agreement with the project affected persons (PAPs).
CIDCO vice chairman and managing director Sanjay Bhatia said, "We have decided to go ahead with the RFQ process and simultaneously negotiations are on with PAPs of six of the total 18 villages who have yet to give their consent for the land acquisition.
The bid process takes up to a year for the finalization and we did not wish to delay it." he however, clarified that the request for proposal (RFP) will be called only after all the PAPs have given their consent. CIDCO has yet to acquire 260 hectare from these villages.
