Not quite a flying start for MAFI at Lohegaon Airport

Pune: The modernisation of airfield infrastructure (MAFI) work at the Pune Airport in Lohegaon started on Wednesday, while passengers were at the receiving end of the inconvenience caused.
With almost half of its 24 operational hours consumed for MAFI work, the airport was struggling to operate flight movements in the remaining time. The airport handles close to 10,000 passengers a day and the non-availability of early morning hours has resulted in modifications in the flying hours spread over the rest of the day, causing inconvenience to passengers.
