Bhubaneswar: The state government will soon repair the dilapidated hanger and boundary wall of the airstrip owned by it near Biju Patnaik Airport here. With no government planes, the hanger was lying idle.
The general administration department has estimated that the repairs will cost Rs 3.8 lakh. The construction will be taken up by the general electrical division (GED) department, said sources.
"Of the Rs 5 crore earmarked for renovation of airstrips located in various districts in the state, Rs 3.8 lakh will be used for repair of the hanger," said a state government official.
The renovation includes installing a feeder panel (meant for lighting) and a boundary wall.
