Pune: The Lohegaon air force station (AFS) has given its in-principle nod to the revised flight schedules proposed by the civil airlines operating out of Pune, for implementation during the course of the modernization of air field infrastructure (MAFI) works starting from January 15.
The works will require closure of the air field runway, which is also used for civil flight operations, from 10 pm to 8 am daily for three months. This has prompted a change in the flight schedules from January 15 to April 15.
An official release by the Defence PRO stated on Friday that the airlines' proposals have been approved in principle with minor variations of 10 to 15 minutes. A final revised schedule will, however, be approved and released by the IAF headquarters in New Delhi.
