Dimapur: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has demanded better road and air connectivity in the State.
Calling on Union Minister for Road Transport and Highway Oscar Fernandes in New Delhi on January 21, Rio said the public in Nagaland are suffering for the last two years due to lack of communication.
Rio called on Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh and apprised him about poor air connectivity in Nagaland. He urged Singh to fly at least ATR flights from Dimapur to Guwahati and Dimapur to Kolkata everyday as Dimapur caters to the flying requirement of Nagaland and also adjoining districts of Assam.
The CM also requested Singh to review the Chethu Airport Project to which the Union Minister directed his officials to send a survey team immediately.
