Chennai: A specialist will soon be engaged to ascertain reasons for frequent breakage of glass and collapse of false ceilings at the newly constructed terminal of the Chennai airport.
This morning a glass panel at gate no. 4 cracked and shattered. This gate is used by Air India and Indigo Airlines for departing passengers . Nobody was injured in the incident.
The glass break is 12th such incident in the last six to eight months when either a glass panel broke or false ceiling collapsed.
“This is really embarrassing,” said an official of the Chennai airport who did not want to named. “We are seeking the help of a specialist to know the reasons for such incidents,” he said.
