Ahmedabad: Airports Authority of India, Ahmedabad on Thursday issued order to increase the stoppage time of vehicles at the domestic terminal of the airport from 5 minutes to 10 minutes. Beginning Friday, vehicles coming at the Sardar Vallabhbhai International airport will get 10 minutes to drop or pick up their relatives or friends. According to Gujarat Congress Pradesh Samiti, AAI increased the time limit after Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel had written the letter to AAI on January 9. State Congress in a release said that AAI took the decision of increasing the time limit at all the airports (run by AAI) across the country on January 17. "Yes, we have given the instructions and formal announcement will be made on Friday. The company handling the parking and toll booth is upgrading its systems and hopefully it will be in place with new time limit," said R K Singh, airport director. Sources said that the new time limit will be implemented from 8am on Friday morning.
