Mumbai: With barely 24 hours before curtains come down on terminals 2B and 2C, the Mumbai international airport on Monday successfully completed its proving trials for the newly integrated T2 terminal.
Airport authorities worked with 6,000 dummy passengers, putting them through 232 scenarios to ensure a seamless transition to T2. The trial lasted a month.
Tim Hawley, in charge of the 90 trials, said the scenarios included those related to medical emergencies and system failures. The trials were part of the airport's Operational Readiness Activation and Transition process which has taken lessons from London Heathrow's new Terminal 5 and Delhi's Terminal 3.
