Air Passengers Association of India challenges CCI's approval to Jet-Etihad deal

New Delhi: More trouble seems to be brewing for the Jet-Etihad deal with the Air Passengers Association of India (APAI) moving the appellate tribunal against the Competition watchdog's approval to the deal.
The association has sought to be made party in the case filed by the former executive director of Air India Jitender Bhargava. "We have impleaded ourselves as a party in support of what Jitender Bhargava had filed before the Compat," said APAI President G Sudhakara Reddyy.
Abu-Dhabi based Etihad Airways has invested Rs 2058 crore for a 24 per cent stake in Naresh Goyal-led Jet Airways. The deal got the approval of from CCI on November 12, 2014.
